We give you the pleasure of enjoying fine music and knowing you are a part of a musical community - a team that enriches the life of all of us. We currently have about 50 members. We feature a variety of music from popular to Classical. Our selections are fun and challenging for Singers and entertaining and rewarding for audiences. Open rehearsals for potential New members are held in September and January at the beginning of the rehearsal seasons. No formal auditions are held, but we do expect New members to be experienced in four part choral singing, and to have some ability to read along with sheet music. Our first meeting/rehearsal was in September 2013. We are directed by Maestro Manuel Jesús Sanchidrián Torti who has an excellent reputation as a choral director in Malaga. Our first concert was in Velez-Malaga in December 2013 when we were joined by a children's choir and a youth orchestra from the Conservatorio “GONZALO MARTIN TENLLADO” in Malaga, both of which are also directed by Manuel Sanchidrián . We plan further concerts and we intend to collaborate with other choirs from different areas of Spain. Our Singers represent 12 different countries and we sing in a number of languages.  less

Humming And Ah-ing Machine is an innovative and fun composition by John White for unaccompanied SATB chorus. The work is made up of short repeated phrases that evolve and entwine, creating a hypnotic and exciting overall work. We performed this piece at a concert in St Michael's Cornhill, London, in 1983.  less

The Sierra Boys Choir is the New revival of the Sierra Boys Choir in the 1970s, which was active in the Reno/Sparks/Carson City area and directed by Stan Burke. When Mr. Burke joined the Mario Singers and left to move to Long Beach, CA, the choir was disbanded and a hole was left in the local arts and culture scene. The revival of the choir is a project (and passion) of Nathan Lundholm. Our goal is to provide musical and artistic opportunities to the boys while teaching them to be generous and thankful members of the local and global community. Our aim is to be fun and entertaining on many levels, from practices to shows, even to social events on the town. We put all volunteers through a background check, and we ask some degree of participation from parents. The Sierra Boys Choir is a 501c3 non-profit corp.
