Since its inception, The Vail Chorale has been entertaining local audiences with Fall and Spring concerts that feature musical styles for every taste. Performances have taken place at various locations including Empire and Cienega High Schools, the Arizona Senior Academy, and the Del Webb Lodge at Rancho del Lago.
Chorale members have included high school students as well as adults of all ages, who have found that the intergenerational experience has added to the fun of singing together. Concert attendees have remarked at the obvious enjoyment and enthusiasm that comes across to the audience.
The Vail Chorale is directed by Fred Reinagel, the Chorale’s founder. Fred determines the theme and selects the repertoire for each concert cycle. Assistant Director Melissa Hale provides support to singers in learning the music and directs selected pieces at each performance. Accompanist Marilee Leishman, returning to the Chorale fall 2015, is an accomplished pianist who has been performing with The Vail Chorale since inception.
Along with the Music Director, Assistant Director and Accompanist, the Chorale’s governing board includes a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer and Past President, who are elected by the Chorale membership and serve on a voluntary basis. General membership meetings are held at the end of each of our two concert cycles in the Spring and Fall.
The Chorale’s concerts are presented at no charge to the public, but donations are welcomed. Personal or business contributions of $50 or more are acknowledged in our printed programs. Contributions may be made payable to the Arizona Senior Academy (ASA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. less
