They will define the themes of our repertoire each year. COLLABORATION Based in Leeds, the choir has numerous opportunities to collaborate with other ensembles, composers and charities to promote and support musicians throughout the North. We hope to work with a variety of musicians to develop quality and future collaboration within the choir. COMMUNICATION No music?! Yes, we will perform without sheet music in concerts. In doing this, we intend to submerse ourselves, and audience in the context of the music. This will enable the choir to fully communicate their interpretations of the ...    One';">less

Although the choir originated and is based in Preston, Lancashire, members come from all over the North West. Individual choir members are involved in a wide range of local community projects and often call upon the whole choir to help drive fundraising events across the region. One Voice Community Choir celebrates diversity and continually sources new material from its multi-cultural roots. The inspired leadership of Musical Director Tyndale Thomas MBE, combined with 14 years of performance experience has produced a stunning sound and versatile choral ensemble. We are not associated with any particular religion or spiritual path. The choir welcomes new members at the beginning of each season in September and February. There is no audition, and no vocal experience is required, just a desire to sing in harmony with others. Our aim is to re-integrate singing into the daily routines of life. We sing for the pure joy and pleasure it gives us, in an atmosphere that is fun, relaxed, and accepting. Our repertoire consists of both traditional and new songs from many cultures. The majority are sung a cappella (unaccompanied) in 4-part harmony. The choir is divided into three chapters, each practicing the same material on either Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Singers are welcome to choose the night that works best for them and to come to additional nights if they wish. The choir had a transfer of leadership as of September ...    One';">less
