The ensemble is composed of musicians from throughout the Province of the Eastern Cape, namely Sanelisiwe Siqwepu (soprano) from Lusikisiki, Andile Tokwe (tenor) from East London, Akhona Witbooi (bass) from Komga. The trio is under the tutelage of Sinethemba Sonanze (music diector) from Alexandria.  

LFC was established in 1950 in Walthamstow, North East London, and has been based in that area ever since. We offer new Singers a warm welcome and...  moreLFC was established in 1950 in Walthamstow, North East London, and has been based in that area ever since. With a membership of around 80, we are an eclectic bunch of people who share a common love of choral music. We offer new Singers a warm welcome and the opportunity to take part in choral concerts in London four times a year, plus various other events and weekend trips away both abroad and in the UK. There is a thriving though optional social side to choir life including drinks after Monday night rehearsals and occasional choir social evenings and other events. The Choir's repertoire ranges widely from staple works such as Bach's St Matthew Passion and Mendelssohn's Elijah to more unusual and rarely heard works by composers such as Jonathan Dove and the Choir's music director Jonathan Rathbone. It recorded Richard Maunder's new edition of Mozart's Requiem under its former music director Murray Stewart, and in 2009-10 the Choir released a CD of the Choir's repertoire, Where'er You Walk, to celebrat...    less

Thompson. The 40-80 member A Cappella Choir offers freshman and sophomore Singers the opportunity to perform works for larger choirs and to fine-tune the art of choral singing through exposure to music from the Renaissance through the 21st century. In daily rehearsals, choir members hone musicianship skills such as rhythm, sight-reading and the understanding of complex scores. They develop an understanding of the intricacies of vocal production, including pitch and how to blend individual voices together into a unified, beautiful sound. Finally, members learn how to sing in an ensemble and to successfully meld as a team. The choir frequently performs with other School of Music ensembles, including the Utah Philharmonia orchestra, the Wind Ensemble, the Chamber Choir and Women’s Chorus. The choir performs concerts each semester and also sings at Remembrance Day ceremonies, convocation ceremonies, and other events on campus and in the community. We are a volunteer, non-auditioned group open to all, but choir members are expected to regularly attend rehearsals and the semester retreat, and to practice their parts on their own time. We usually put up practice files under “Resources” (members-only access) so that you can download your part and listen to it on whatever portable music-playing device you own. No musical experience is needed, but the ability to read music is an asset (if you can't read music, we'll help you learn).  less

Founded in 1951 by the late Richar...  moreChorus Inspira (formerly the Richard Eaton Singers) is dedicated to the enjoyment, study and performance of great choral music, to an international standard of excellence, and to fostering the appreciation of this music. Founded in 1951 by the late Richard S. Eaton, RES has played a leading role in Edmonton’s cultural community for more than seven decades. In addition to presenting its own concerts, the choir is a regular guest of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and collaborates frequently with other Edmonton ensembles, including the Alberta Baroque Ensemble. It has also collaborated with other Canadian choirs in the past, including the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus, the Vancouver Bach Choir and the Winnipeg Philharmonic Choir.  less
