Kyrie - Une heure ou deux me restent dans ce bruit sonore que tu es ... soprano and alto solos (distant and present voices) with guitar accompaniment 2. Un dernier regard car la fenêtre ouverte que tu es se clôt....soprano (still singing Kyrie) and alto with guitar accompaniment 3. Alone we are together in this place - two alto recorders and guitar with spoken voice 4. He makes men pure from their sins (words by St Paul) - two equal voices with guitar chord names 5. Kyrie eleison and Christe eleison (sung in the distance) 6. Amidst grey working days - alto and guitar 7. I was on the 1 train on Manhattan’s West Side one day when I saw the poem “Heaven,” by Patrick Phillips. I was immediately captured by the simple beauty of Patrick’s poem, and the mystery of the first line, “It will be the past.” I loved his vision and thought immediately that I wanted to compose music for this poem. Mystery, joy, wonder. “Heaven” is the winner of choral composition competitions sponsored by both the Manhattan Choral Ensemble and Georgia College. As the introduction states, Eric Whitacre's famous "Sleep" was originally composed to Robert Frost's "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", but when Whitacre realized the Frost estate was not releasing permission for musical settings of the poem, Charles Silvestri wrote the poem "Sleep" around the music Whitacre had written. To honor the inspiration the poem gave Mr. Whitacre, and to further honor all poets who inspire choral composers, we presented this beloved piece with the original Frost lyrics.  less
