The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square perform this classic with Kristin Chenoweth in front of a backdrop of images that focus on selfless service and generosity, honoring the unsung heroes whose angel-like service embodies the true spirit of Christmas. As Chenoweth said in her introduction to the song, “They are the healers, defenders, protectors, teachers, volunteers, activists, and caregivers who, through their devoted acts of service and kindness, help support and guide us through both difficult and good times in our lives.”
"Angels among Us" is by Don Goodman and Becky Hobbs, with arrangement by Sam Cardon. It was originally recorded by the country band Alabama.

The forty boys of the choir are educated at Westminster Under School, part of London’s historic Westminster School, established before 1179 as a monastic school of the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter. In 1560 the school was re-founded by Queen Elizabeth I for boys to be “liberally instructed in good books to the greater honour of the state.” Ever since, the school’s history has been intertwined with the momentous state events and political turmoils of the capital. Old Westminsters dominated Parliament for most of the eighteenth century and the output of leading politicians, statesmen and soldiers has continued to this day. The school’s contribution to literature, philosophy and the arts has been immense, from such alumni as Ben Jonson, John Dryden, Henry Purcell and Christopher Wren to A.A. Milne, Adrian Boult, John Gielgud and Peter Ustinov, from Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Stephen Poliakoff to Julian Anderson, Ian Bostridge, Helena B... less

Tomislav Veršić in the school year 1992/93 by merging two school ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At the end of the following school year, the choir participated for the first time at the Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, thereby winning the Silver Plaque. In 1996 the performance of the choir at the same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, the choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as the Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of the school and thus of this historical review as well.
The choir continued its work under the name of “Marko Marulić” High School in the school year 2004/05. Since 2006 until now, the Choir has performe... less
