Nashville Singers was founded in November of 2008 by a handful of men who had the desire to join their voices with the voices of others committed to excellence in vocal and choral performance. In their first four years, this volunteer group has grown from four to 15 singers, learned 42 songs, released their first CD, racked up 51 performances for 32 organizations in seven counties across Tennessee, and produced a successful concert series which has attracted a combined 1000+ attendees from 38 cities in eight states across the USA. Spera means hope in Latin, and it is a members’ shared vision on music. All members studied a sacred choral music under Koji Oguchi, choir director, when they were high school students. They were deeply touched by Oguchi’s music and established the Ensemble Choir SPERA. Making its debut in concert in March 2014 at Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall, SPERA’s music was highly prized and well-reviewed in newspapers. It serves in Masses and services and performs in concerts as an ecumenical choir, composed of students from Kitasato University, International Christian University, Hitotsubashi University and Rikkyo University. The quartet has performed at various prestigious venues including Casa Botter, Akbank Sanat, BKM Mutfak, Pera Museum, Borusan Music House, Santa Maria Draperis Church, St. Pierre and St. Paul's Church. In 2017, they received an invitation from Harmony University - Quartet College in Nashville, USA, and became the first Turkish quartet to attend this annual Barbershop convention and performed to international audience.
