In over 25 years, nearly 400 people from all backgro...  moreChoir members are based all over the United Kingdom, and we come together only when we rehearse and sing at a Cathedral city. We do not belong to any particular geographical area or church denomination. In over 25 years, nearly 400 people from all backgrounds have sung with us - often for the first time in an English Cathedral. The number continues to grow year by year. Martin Hall, our founder, became 'Director Emeritus' in Autumn 2006 and Matthew O' Donovan took over the post of Director in his stead. Because of the way we meet, we don't require formal auditions in advance, but new Singers are expected to be excellent sight readers and to have a good choral tone.  less

With the addition of Richard Larson as artistic director and a handful of additional Singers, the group quickly found a footing in the cultural fabric of Denver, Colorado. Now entering its 15th full season of performing, the group has expanded into an auditioned ensemble of 54 volunteer Singers who meet weekly to rehearse. Many of the Singers come from schools with strong choral music programs, such as Augustana, Brigham Young, Concordia, Luther, St. Olaf, Wartburg, and the University of Northern Colorado. Kantorei established itself as one of the nation’s premier choral ensembles after performing as an auditioned choir for the 2003 National American Choral Directors Association Conference at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
