The Choir has close links with the Greek-catholics (in Ukraine). For decades, the Choir strived to keep Ukrainian (liturgical and worldly) culture alive. It did so whilst the Greek-catholic Church fought to survive its suppressors. It continues to do so, joining in the happiness of the Greek-catholics' freedom today.
The Choir was founded by Ukrainian born and raised Musicologist Myroslaw Antonowycz (+2006). At present, the Utrecht Byzantine Choir is directed by Grigori Sergei Sarolea. Grigori was born and raised in a Slavic-byzantine church community in The Hague.

In an effort to stay committed to singing and performing at the highest possible level, we compete each year in a national contest and we also perform our own annual Show to raise our profile in the community. Check us out on Facebook and Youtube!
We can be seen and heard throughout the year, performing for major corporations, civic and charitable organizations, private groups, churches, community events, and fundraisers. Hamazkayin's Armenian Youth Choir (AYC) was founded in order to keep the young generation's taste & interest in classical, folk and contemporary qualified Music alive.
The Choir's founder and artistic director is Maestro Zakar Keshishian.

The Choir’s pianist is Mrs. Kamila Keshishian.
The Choir has a multilingual playlist which extends from Armenian traditional folk songs to modern Armenian or non-Armenian songs.
These songs are performed in different ways:
- A capella
- Accompanied by the piano
- Accompanied by the Armenian folk traditional band
- Accompanied by a modern contemporary band.
Many Armenian Musicians from Armenia enrich the Choir's repertoire with their unique and creative works.
The Choir members are composed of university students and secondary classes students in Armenian High Schools, as well as young Armenians in the work force.
The Choir has given concerts in AUB's Assembly Hall, USJ's Saint Joseph Church, as well as concerts in Cyprus.

The joik is a unique form of cultural expression for the Sami people in northern Scandinavia. Each joik is meant to reflect a person or place. This does not mean that it is a song about the person or place, but that the joiker is attempting to transfer "the
essence" of that person or place into song—one joiks their friend, not about their friend.
This joik is the essence of a young boy's dream of riding through the snow on the back of a reindeer. less
