Too often today, it can feel easier to unfriend, unfollow, or simply part ways with others when they seem unworthy of our effort. Yet to truly understand and love one another requires fierce determination. It demands listening with openness rather than tuning out in order to respond defensively. It asks us to compromise—even when that means agreeing to disagree. Ultimately, all of this is only possible if we choose to live with the will to love. musically, I sought to capture both determination and collective unity through texture and rhythmic drive. The use of canonic writing on the text “I sing” symbolizes individual voices rising together toward a shared purpose. Likewise, the primary rhythmic motive in the secondo piano part reflects the persistence and passion of the human heart—the unyielding fire that propels us forward through hardship.
