Rehearsing at Akcan Akademi under conductor Özgen Öz, the choir is an active member of Koro Kültürü Derneği (the Choral Culture Association). Since its founding, FeminAnka has been invited to numerous festivals and has been honoured with several awards. Having shared the stage with Türkiye’s leading choirs, the choir continues to strengthen the place of the female voice in polyphonic music — with a repertoire spanning polyphonic arrangements of folk songs, contemporary works, sacred music and pop. We keep working with the same enthusiasm as on day one, driven by the wish to resonate alongside musicians devoted to polyphonic music in different countries, cities and concert halls.  less

We range in age from 18 to 75. We strive to inspire singers, audiences and community through the beauty and power of diverse chorale music. We perform four major concerts per year, including a holiday program, a classical performance with orchestra, and a spring pops concert.

Vi arbeider med et variert repertoar med stor spennvidde. Det dekker alt frå religiøs musikk til drikkeviser. Gammal og ny musikk, shanty, jazz - inspirert, negro spirituals og elles dei tradisjonelle mannskorverka. Mange forbinder mannskor med 17. mai og gamle tradisjonelle sanger. Os Mannskor stiller villig opp 17. mai med nasjonale musikkskatter, men det er likevel bare en liten del av et frodig bilde. Vi er ikke opptatt av båser når det gjelder musikk. Om den er gammel eller ny, lett eller seriøs, spiller mindre rolle. Det avgjørende er at musikken framføres best mulig og fenger publikum. Oppga...    less

We are a mixed voice choir singing a variety of musical styles including classical, pop, musicals, sacred and Scottish songs. Members' ages range from teenagers to octogenarians. To date we have recorded over 30 albums and raised over £1.5 million for charity.

We sing challenging and rewarding music in a friendly committed environment with a wide range of ages and nationalities. We have a particular affinity for contemporary classical music, having won prizes for interpretation at home and abroad, and regularly present Irish premieres at our Dublin concerts.

The words are my own and tell of children playing in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to where the angels are singing.
