A performance by a live choir (a cappella and at the correct pitch) can be heard on the score page. The words are my own and tell of children playing in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to where the angels are singing.

The choir has performed throughout Scotland and beyond, with music covering all periods and most styles. Critically acclaimed, and attracting capacity audiences, at the Edinburgh Fringe and elsewhere, the choir is regularly invited to perform at prominent events and has been broadcast on BBC Radio (3, 4 and Scotland) and Classic FM. Cadenza’s most recent CD - Bright Star: Cadenza at Christmas – was reviewed in Classical Music Magazine and included in Breakfast on 3’s Advent Calendar in December 2013. We are resident at St. Matthew's parish church in Chapel Allerton. We rehearsal three times a month, on a Friday evening and sing four services a month, including Evensong on the first Sunday of every month. We also often host come and sing days and various workshops, our two most recent projects have been on Buxtehude's Membra Jesu Nostri and Mozart's Requiem. We were founded in 1928 and perform two major concerts a year in addition to our annual appearance at the Leith Hill Musical Festival in the Spring, as well as regular Christmas charity concerts and other activities.
