XVIII) and in the work of the Spanish Juan de Arañés (S. XVII). The subtle and everyday expressions of the indigenous people, together with those of the Africans, convey their deep desire for freedom. GIVE and TAKE A little Give and Take upholds a friendship. You have beds to sell, I have beddings to buy. Neighbors are family, Good riddles make good friends. The knife may be sharp, it never scrapes its handle. Those who always share never die of hunger. Long lives Diplomacy! Long lives Fraternity! - - - III.
