  Entering the colonial Spanish-American period, indigenism and slavery raise their voices in the Peruvian Codex of Martinez Compañón (S. XVIII) and in the work of the Spanish Juan de Arañés (S. XVII). The subtle and everyday expressions of the indigenous people, together with those of the Africans, convey their deep desire for freedom. The Bozal Spanish language, as also the themes, texts and rhythm of the works, show the strong syncretism between the Spanish culture and that of the indigenous and African natives.

  Brief History of the Goa University Choir
  
  The Goa University Choir was founded in 2013 under the baton of Mtro. Lusardi Girelli. Since its creation, the GU CHOIR has offered multiple programmes, concerts and workshops across Goa and India, receiving excellent commentaries from audience and press alike. During the last three years, the Choir has performed at several important venues such as the Ketevan World Sacred Music Festival and the Monte Festival in Old Goa, amongst others.
