In the first few years of the Choir's existence, they con...  moreWe are the pioneer choral group in the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Pillar - Imus Cathedral in Cavite. Himig Batingaw was founded in March of 1979 by members of the Legion of Mary. In the first few years of the Choir's existence, they conducted rehearsals at the church belfry; hence the name Himig (melody) and Batingaw (peal of bells) was born. The Choir is very influential in the rise and development of choral music in the parish. It has introduced new pieces for liturgical use most of which are composed or arranged for the group and has graduated noted local musicians from its ranks. In the past years, the chorale group has joined different chorale festivals and won in various competitions; namely, Himig ng Kabataan Alay Kay Don Bosco, forte Chorale Competition in De La Salle – Dasmariñas Cavite, Vivere Hotel and Resorts Annual Chorale Competition, First Grand Chorale Competition in Imus City Mall, Wikawit: Tagisan ng Korong Kabitenyo. We perform every eight weeks and know you're busy, so sign up for the performance cycles that best fit your schedule. We welcome singers of all ability levels, so whether you only sing in your car or have a music degree, you'll be right at home. Because after a beer, we're all better singers.

Òran began as an alumni offshoot of the Kokopelli Youth Choir, but it has since developed into a group made up of young adults from all over Edmonton and the surrounding area. Each brings a different viewpoint to the group, but all are united in their passion for singing. The Choir stresses the same philosophical goals as its younger counterpart, striving to achieve musical excellence and artistic integrity, as well as combining new interpretive techniques with more traditional choral expertise. Above all, the group is dedicated to sharing joy in song with each other, with other Choirs, and with audiences around Edmonton and across Canada. With thirty-five voices and a multi-talented band, the Choir’s repertoire ranges from hip-hop, reggae, traditional and contemporary gospel. The director and founder of this anointed Choir is Shawn Cotterell. Shawn Cotterell’s first musical experience began at the age of seven singing in a church Choir.
