We uphold the tradition and art of Male choral singing through the camaraderie of choral membership and in entertaining our audiences. We give our own concerts several times a year in Norwich and beyond, as well as appear at events by invitation. We were Special Guests of 'The People's Soprano' Rebecca Newman at her 2012 and Spring 2016 tour Norwich appearances and we put up a team to challenge the Eggheads for quiz supremacy! We also hold Open Rehearsals at the beginning of each singing season when we invite adult gentlemen to see whether Male choral singing is for them, or just to see our singing men at work! In 1560 the School was re-founded by Queen Elizabeth I for boys to be “liberally instructed in good books to the greater honour of the state.” Ever since, the School’s history has been intertwined with the momentous state events and political turmoils of the capital. Old Westminsters dominated Parliament for most of the eighteenth century and the output of leading politicians, statesmen and soldiers has continued to this day. Ably assisted by, now ...  moreThe Toronto Welsh Male Voice Choir (TWMVC) was established in 1995 gathering together a group of like-minded individuals of Welsh heritage sought to kindle the spirit of traditional Welsh Male voice singing in their adopted country. Ably assisted by, now emeritus, music director David Low, the founding members saw their numbers grow to a membership of sixty choristers. the Choir continues to grow musically under the direction of William Woloschuk and accompanist Matthew Coons. Although many of the current members still lay claim to Welsh connections, the TWMVC now has members from a variety of ethnic backgrounds. The TWMVC proudly draws on the great Welsh tradition of singing hymns and songs born of the mountains and valleys of Wales. At the same time it emphasizes a multicultural context in its broad repertoire which also includes spirituals; operatic arias, Canadian folk songs as well as Broadway show tunes and contemporary music. St. Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir was formed in 1988 and has grown to be one of the largest in East Anglia with over 100 members.
