Imagine a Book Club for Choral singers! Each session every two or three weeks, we will look at a couple of new songs, chosen by differend members of the group, from the whole history of music, form Monvererdi to Madness. we have two experienced conductor/singers who will be happy to lead any session, but all singers will be encouraged to lead their own song choices if they wish. the aim, in the first intance, is to have fun exploring as much choral repertoire as possible, in a fun and collaborative enviroment. we do not intend to book up concerts straight away - once we've had a few meetings and looked at enough repertoire then we'll think about performances. During it's 90 years it has flourished and built up an enviable record of success in competitions and concert performances. Its success in competition,particularly eisteddfodau, was established in its early days. the first taste of success was second prize at Treorchy in 1928, followed by Cardiff in 1938 and Ebbw Vale in 1958. the first prize was ultimately achieved at Port Talbot in 1966 and repeated in 1968 at Barry. It carries out both an academic and educational approach to work.
