Music from every music epoch will be performed from serious to more pop/contemporary a cappella forms. This ensemble is offered every fall and spring semester, and satisfies the fine Arts requirement when enrolled for a minimum of three semesters.

Within the Choir there are acting two ensembles: children’s Choir «Brevis» (vocalists from 13 to 18 years of age) and a Vocal ensemble «Brevis» (girls Choir - vocalist from 18 to 30 years of age). All of the vocalists started their «internship in singing» with well-known children’s Choir of Osijek, i.e. «Osječki zumbići» (Tiny mosquitoes of Osijek). Up-to-now, the Choir had a series of successful performances throughout the territory of Croatia - in Osijek, Zagreb, Split, Varaždin, Šibenik and also abroad - in Orašje (Bosnia & Herzegovina), Budapest, Pecs (Hungary), Athens (Greece), Salzburg, Graz, Klagenfurt, Villach, Wienna (Austria), Pforzheim, Munich, Düseldorf, Speyer, Sindelfingen, Mosbach (Germany), Helsingborg (Sweden),Xiamen (China), USA (New York), Canada, (Montreal, Toronto), Bulgaria (Varna), Poland (Poznan). In 1985 the Choir became an Oakham House society open to Ryerson students, faculty and...  moreThe Choir was founded in 1984 as a result of the efforts of Marie Dowler of Ryerson's English department and became a success under the direction of Matthew Jaskiewicz. In 1985 the Choir became an Oakham House society open to Ryerson students, faculty and staff. In 1987 membership was opened to the general public. The Choir is currently made up of Ryerson undergraduates and alumni, current and retired faculty members and people from all ages and walks of life in the community. It ranges in size from 60-80 members. A core of long term members makes it possible to maintain high standards and perform a demanding repertoire. Under Matthew's direction, the Choir has performed over 50 concerts and on several occasions performed at Ryerson graduation ceremonies. In 1986 the Choir competed in three categories at the Kiwanis Festival, winning first place in two categories and receiving high marks in all three.
