Several months previous, a number of likeminded individuals began to visualise the formation of a Male choir for the Lower Llynfi Valley, something which this area of the County Borough of Bridgend, South Wales lacked.
Following lengthy discussions with a number of experienced and well respected Choristers, we came up with some basic philosophies.
• Keep the choir to a manageable size
• Take our music to the community-at-large
• Establish ourselves as a quality musical group
• Encourage less experienced Choristers to grow in ability and musicality
• Share our joy in singing
One thing was fundamental, and that was to keep the choir `Ego-Free` their mantra being ‘Leave your Egos at the door as it’s the music that matters’.
Their desire was to form a group in which lasting friendships would grow and be nurtured, with an aim to bond and enjoy singing, and at the same time, perform to the community, raise money for charity and have lots of pleasure doing so.
