EFC is a Choir of around 75 singers, attracting people from all parts of the South West region. We perform with professional orchestras and soloists, and aim to bring choral Music of the highest quality to our audiences. Under the inspired and dynamic Musical direction of Nigel Perrin, EFC has become one of the region’s most versatile and highly acclaimed choral groups.
We provide a broad range of Music for our audiences, covering a great variety of genres and periods; we revisit standard works within the choral repertoire and explore new challenges from the contemporary Musical scene. Vocal group Octachord was formed four years ago by young people who want to share their love towards Music. In their sound they’re combining variety of styles with an emphasis on Gospel and pop. They won the 2nd prize in international competition in Veron... moreVocal group Octachord was formed four years ago by young people who want to share their love towards Music. In their sound they’re combining variety of styles with an emphasis on Gospel and pop. They won the 2nd prize in international competition in Verona, Italy in 2008. In 2011. they won silver prize in Rimini, and also, the special prize for the best group up to 12 singers.
During 2012. they performed in 3 contests, in Gorizia (ITA) - 1st prize in pop cathegory, Graz (AUT) - bronze in pop cathegory and Rijeka (CRO) - 1st prize in Gospel and jazz. less

The choral programme starts with a general education for ages 5-7, before they are ready for Junior Choir (7-10), Intermediate Choir (10-13), Stage Choir or Youth Choir (13-18). Youth Choir contains over 80 singers, and the total number of singers meeting each week at the academy is over 180. The junior Choirs are directed by Mrs Kate Venvell, Stage Choir is directed by Richard Halton and Julie Gossage, and Youth Choir is directed by Tim Venvell. less
