“Weep O Mine Eyes” was first published by composer John Bennet (c. 1575-c. 1610) in his first collection of madrigals in 1599. It was one of his most popular madrigals, as well as one of the most internationally famous songs of the period. It is apparently based on John Dowland’s “Flow, my Teares”.
Like Dowland’s lyrics, these lyrics express an intense melancholy of someone whose happiness has been abruptly shattered and desires to not be saved from this dark despair. The speaker wishes his death by drowning in his despair, in his tears. The expression of melancholy, and notions of darkness, neglect, Time’s cruelty, spiteful age, were themes used by Elizabethan songwriters to prefigure the stark inevitability of death, and it remained a prominent feature of English literature and music in the time of Elizabeth I and Shakespeare.

A CAPPELLA - Jazzchor Freiburg releases new CD
Since it was founded two decades ago, Jazzchor Freiburg has always excited its audiences in Germany and abroad, convinced juries of international competitions, and gotten renowned soloists on board. Under the direction of its founder Bertrand Gröger, the choir remained so successful with the accompaniment of its band; the perfect balance between choir vocals and rhythm combo remains the trademark of Jazzchor Freiburg.
But now, the renowned choir has produced its first purely a cappella CD.

We are the only King's College-type choir (with choirboys, choirgirls and adult ATBs) in Hawai'i.
We have been invited by Ely Cathedral in Cambridgeshire, UK, to sing as "choir in residence" for a week in July 2014, taking over their choir's duties of singing 8 services that week.
We are the only Hawai'i choir to belong to the Royal School of Church Music, and we use their adjudication standards to award medals which are internationally recognized by the RSCM.
We sing sacred music in English, Latin, and Hawaiian.
We are always looking for new choristers. Auditions are year-around, although placement occurs only in fall semester and spring semester.
We are a choir school who trains choristers in choral technique of the highest standards. Our ages range from 7 to 73 years old. All of our choristers passed an auditio... less
