Since our inception, we strive to engage all our audience members, from the musically sophisticated to first-timers. We enjoy bringing our performance art to the Calgary community. We perform at two major concerts per year as well as various community performances. The Choir was initially created to unite students with a shared interest in praising the Lord through song. Soon, however, the weekly choir rehearsals became not only a meeting place, but also a refuge for those looking for a non-threatening and empowering environment. Over the years, the Choir has grown to include members of all races and Christian denominations, and celebrates not only the diversity of its members, but also that of its audiences. UTGC has burst onto the international scene, while continuing to serve the greater Toronto community in local concerts and university events held throughout the year, like their community Christmas concert, and May's Gospelfest. ESPRIT was awarded a first prize at the Peel Music Festival in April 2012, and is the proud recipient of the Hon. Barbara A. Hagerman Award for first place at the 2012 Ontario Provincial Music Festival. In August 2012, ESPRIT was awarded second place in the Canadian Nationals of the Federation of Canadian Music Festivals (Class 100 - Honourable Barbara A. Hagerman – Best performance by a community choral group 19 and up). The chorale is from Northern California in the San Francisco Bay Area. We perform twice a year in April and November. The choir also travels internationally to such places as Canada, Italy, Hungary, Puerto Rico, Morocco, and Spain. Our goal when we travel is to collaborate with choirs from the region we are visiting and perform concerts together. Our repertoire ranges from Mozart to Ola Gjeilo to Eric Whitacre and many more.

Good Noise has performed with artists such as Barbra Streisand, David Foster, Josh Groban, Holly Cole, Daniel Lapp, Dee Daniels, Jim Byrnes, John Lee Sanders, Jennifer Scott, Karin Plato, Kate Hammett-Vaughan, and has appeared on CBC TV, CBC Radio, Global TV, CityTV, Bravo, Knowledge Network and Vision TV. The choir has performed at several festivals, including the Vancouver Folk Festival, Envision Jazz Festival and the Wintersong Festival. In the Fall of 2013, Good Noise was featured live in concert in an episode for a new television series on Vision TV, “Gospel To Go”. The choir has also been featured in a television Christmas gospel music special “Tell It On The Mountain” on the Bravo Network, Vision Network and the Knowledge Network and featured in the Disney corporation’s promotion of the musical “The Lion King”.
