This is Our first virtual choir, created October-December 2020 on Dharug, Eora and Kuring-gai land. After performing Ola Gjeilo's 'The Ground' in Our final concert in 2019, we were preparing it again for Our 'Indomitable Spirit' concert in May 2020. Then, Covid-19 arrived. Like many choirs, we kept going online, or outdoors when permitted. This film is a record of Our year, made to remind Ourselves that joy and connection are still available to us, despite distance and change. The Singers are directed by Dr Simon Lindley, Music Director since the choir's foundation in 1977. En la...  moreLa Escolanía María Auxiliadora (EMA) es un coro de voces blancas que nace en 1997 en el Colegio María Auxiliadora (Salesianas) de Cádiz por iniciativa de Antonio Hernández Asencio, profesor de música del centro y director musical desde su fundación. En la actualidad sus componentes vienen desde distintos centros escolares, institutos y facultades. En sus ya 18 años de historia la EMA ha participado en multitud de concursos, encuentros y congresos con coros de todo el mundo y ha sido invitada a colaborar en galas y proyectos benéficos. Tuvieron especial relevancia los encuentros nacionales en Guadix (Granada), Toledo, Oviedo y Murcia, así como los congresos internacionales en Granada, Estocolmo, Roma y París. En julio de 2012 realizó una intensa gira de siete conciertos en la región de Aveyron (Francia), en abril de 2013 fue invitada al I Festival Internacional de Coros en Casablanca (Marruecos) y en 2014 al Festival Internacional de Canto Coral en Tánger. All of the vocalists started their «internship in singing» with well-known children’s choir of Osijek, i.e. «Osječki zumbići» (Tiny mosquitoes of Osijek). The Choir regularly performs at weddings, corporate events and massed male voice choir events, enthralling audiences up and down the country, having also performed in Jersey, Ireland, Belgium, Germany and the USA.
