"Secret for the Mad"
by dodie
I've got a secret for the mad
In a little bit of time it won't hurt so bad
And I get that I don't get it
But you will burn right now but then you won't regret it
You're not gonna believe a word I say
What's the point in just drowning another day
And I get that I don't get it
But the world will show you that you won't regret it
Little things, all the stereotypes
They're gonna help you get through this one night
And there will be a day
When you can say you're okay and mean it
I promise you it'll all make sense again
I promise you it'll all make sense again
There's nothing to do right now but try
There are a hundred people who will listen to you cry
And I get that they don't get it
But they love you so much that you won't regret it

Our motto is: "One Choir, One Community, No Divides, ALL Abilities"
The aim of Music Matters and our inclusive community choir Projects is to unite all of our members through the universal language of music - regardless of previous musical experience, ability, language, socio-economic status or other barriers which may prevent our members from being able to fully participate in other musical groups.
Our choral Projects include: inclusive community Choirs for people with and without disabilities, Choirs specifically for adults with intellectual disabilities, and Choirs for older people, with a particular focus on those with dementia and memory loss.
There are now a total of ten Choirs operating in the Dublin area, with more planned for 2015!

This song is our ‘Thank You’ to all of you who have donated to our charities throughout our Homegrown Harmony Project. In total, you raised £1587 for 7 charities. Many of you followed the songs each week and donated more than once – thank you so much!
Thank yous also go to everyone who shared and commented on our songs – a staggering 41.5k people watched our videos over our social media, simply because you shared with your friends and communities! Thank you for taking the time to do that. It’s a wonderful feeling to share our songs and our charities to a wider audience and to know that you’ve enjoyed listening.
In many ways, the Homegrown Harmony Project has brought us closer as a choir and more in touch with our local communities. We’ve been so pleased that our videos have helped our chosen charities at a time when their resources have been low, but demand has been high.
So, thank you all for sharing the love, supporting the Project and for your wonderful comments!

Overtone singing is a new vocal technique that allows for singing two tones simultaneously. EOC sings compositions with written overtones as well as choir improvisations and contemporary music. The effect of controlled overtones on the timbre of classical choir compositions is explored with special ear training.

This concert was the culmination of a six-week Project which creates a choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. Usually eight songs are learnt in six two-hour sessions and in the winter are performed at St. Peters by the Waterfront, Ipswich. http://chrisrowbury.com
