A performance by a live choir (a cappella and at the correct pitch) can be heard on the score page. The words are my own and tell of children playing in the dusty streets (ie of Bethlehem) unaware that a miracle has happened and asking them to look up to where the angels are singing.

Using the simple view that a good Song is a good Song, has meant that they bring together a collection of pieces that appeal to a wide audience. The choir delights in introducing new Songs that are connected by their unique choral sound, rather than from a particular genre and it is this wide appeal and their sense of fun that has meant the group is in constant demand and continually attracts new members. Even in its early days the choir never quite conformed to the accepted norms of what should be included in their repertoire. However, this in no way hindered its appeal and it went on to win a number and prestigious competitions including one of the largest Eisteddfods for male choirs in Wales, an award for services to the arts from Chelmsford City Council and passed the advanced choral singing examination of The Associated Board of the Royal College of Music Successive musical directors contributed the choir`s ...    less

We foster a friendly and supportive environment, and have regular social activities. We're relaxed bu...  moreThe choir is formed of around 120 adult members from all walks of life and age ranges. The Musical Director has, since 2013, been Dominic Ellis-Peckham. We foster a friendly and supportive environment, and have regular social activities. We're relaxed but focused when it comes to pursuing musical excellence and have a keen shared purpose in developing our individual vocal skills, and pushing ourselves with new and challenging repertoire from across the centuries and genres. Each season the choir usually promotes around six concerts in London in venues such as St James's Piccadilly and St Paul's Covent Garden, and organises two weekend tours - one in the UK, and one overseas (recent destinations include Paris, Porto and Rome); and we regularly receive external bookings.​ Past engagements have included with Pete Townshend and Alfie Boe for 'Classic Quadrophenia' at the Royal Albert Hall, and with Madonna for the Eurovision Song Contest Final in Tel Aviv.  less

We took part of our rehearsal last night to honor Black History Month and celebrate the diversity of our Chorus. What better way to celebrate than with Song. We chose "Oh Happy Day"' a late '60s gospel Song with its roots from an 18th-century hymn.
