The impact of climate change can already be seen around the globe. This critical issue should leave traces also on Choir Life, and we therefore initiated Earth Choir 2016 – Voices for a Living Planet. Welcome to
join us!
The project is as huge as it is simple. We invite choirs from all over the world and on all levels to take part in a concert concept for the environment and the living planet.
The period for arranging a concert is from April 2016 until the end of the year.
We offer, free of charge, a number of short texts (in English and Swedish) to be recited during the concert. The songs sung in between the texts are chosen by the choirs and from their own repertoire. The purpose is to gather thousands of voices all over the world, singing for our common home, the Earth.
Earth Choir 2016 is a religiously and politically independent project. The initiator is the Swedish choir conductor Sofia Söderberg. The texts are written by Tiina Meri. On our
website you will find examples of how text and music can work together.
