Though founded and based in Whitby, our membership is made up of residents from all over Durham Region and the GTA. We truly represent and reflect the diversity of the Region in which we perform. The choir currently numbers 70 to 80 choir members ranging in age from 18 to 80.  

This year Kranjski oktet will celebrate his 5th anniversary. The group consist of experienced amateur Singers. We preform choral music, ethnic music and modern songs emphasis on Slovenian authors. We preform choral music, ethnic music and modern songs emphasis on Slovenian authors. We preform a lot across Slovenia on solo tours or we prefrom on different cultural events. For four years in a row, we organize Festival oktetov Kranj (Festival of small vocal groups). We also preformed successfully abroad in Perast, Montenegro and Praga.

The choir currently has around 30 members, with Martin Weston as musical director. The choir's repertoire is wide and varied, with many songs taken from shows and films. We also sing sacred, gospel, jazz, pop and world music, with the odd novelty number thrown in! We perform at many events in Lancashire and Merseyside, including two main concerts each year at Rainford Parish Hall, plus charity events and private functions.  less
