Every one of them have learned and recorded ind...  moreThe Junior High Students of the Colegio Sembradores de Amistad in San Luis Potosí, Mexico show us that music is an universal language that brings us together, defeating every obstacle like time and space. Every one of them have learned and recorded individually a part of an original song (Vuela Alto = Fly High). When brought together, this parts sums to a wonderful show of talent and music. This project was made for the graduation prom by students aged between 13 and 15 years old. They show us that the only thing that matters to achieve anything is take the risk and surrender to your dreams. More than a third of them have never sung to an audience before (including Linda, the soloist). The music brings us together, it allows us to raise our voice to the universe and with it "Ni la distancia podrá separarnos" (Not even the distance can take us apart).  less

A joyous exclamation which is set at a wedding, where the groom is being asked: "Where are you hiding the bride". Traditional Sesotho South African traditional music is known for their movement and dancing in their songs, and the UP Youth Choir accentuates this by highlighting the movement in their performance.

These dynamic and talented singer...  moreThe SYC was formed in 1998, as children's Choir singers grew and voices changed! This four part chorus (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) is devoted to music of all styles, including Classical, Broadway and Contemporary tunes. These dynamic and talented singers range in age from 14-25, and include young women in gr.11 and higher, and young men with changed voices. The SYC annually participates in the Family Christmas Concert, and choreographed year end show. They also stage an Orchestra concert each spring, which has presented pieces such as Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Vivaldi's Gloria, and Requiems by Mozart, Faure, Rutter, and Daley, to name a few. This year, the SYC looks forward to singing Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. The Youth Chorus joined the senior and chamber Choirs in their 2009 tour to the UK. They were ecstatic to receive 8th place standing in the Mixed Voices category at a festival that boasts participants from over 50 different countries.
