North Shore’s Children’s Choir is on tour this month, and their Wellington concert is a special programme combined with a choir from the Hutt Valley- The Major Minors Children’s Choir.
Both choirs between them have singers ranging from age 4-14. Musical Director of the North Shore choir Vanessa Kay says “The children are really looking forward to their Wellington performance with The Major Minors Children’s Choir, there is so much that goes into learning songs, performing on stage and learning the words. To have the chance to sing with a local choir is a great experience."
The Major Minors recently performed with success at the Hutt Valley Performing Arts competitions and in 2014 won the Upper Hutt category for Arts and Culture in the Wellington Airport Community Awards. The choir has grown in numbers this year and Musical Director Joanne Roelofs said “it has been a busy year with lots of opportunities to perform. The Major Minors are particularly looking forward to their first concert in Wellington and to hearing another established children’s choir”.
Hear them sing at St Andrew’s on the Terrace, Wellington, New Zealand. Saturday 25 July at 6pm. Entry by donation.
