Our repertoire includes a wide spectrum of choral works, and commissioned works by distinguished Hong Kong composers, including Dr. Chan Hing Yan, Dr. Victor Chan, Dr. Daniel Law, Mr. Law Wing Fai, Dr. Phoebus Lee, Mr. Michael Mak and Dr. Richard Tsang. The Chorus regularly holds annual large-scale concerts with its official orchestral partner, The Learners Orchestra, in addition to its other yearly choral concerts of a smaller scale. Its 30 Singers represent each and every possible walk of life. Good, solid, serious musical work, hand in hand with a particularly warm, family-like atmosphere, have made every “Jean’s” rehearsal and performance something very special indeed. Our popularity is due in equal measure to the high quality of our performances and to our repertoire,“Love Around the World”, a wonderful songbook comprised of original five-part arrangements (all arranged by Jeanne Rabin herself) of the world’s most beloved love songs of all time – both in Hebrew and English, with a sprinkling of other languages as well.  less

We were born on the 24th of july 2017. A new choir in our local area. Open to all Singers who want to have a fun singing experience, performing songs from the charts, old and new.

We are a group of friends who got to know each other while singing in the same academic or Chamber choirs. Eventually, our passion for the classical music led us to create our own vocal ensemble. In our repertoire there are also some pop music arrangements.

" - Orlando Gibbons (1583 - 1625) Program notes: A famous text also famously used by Gibbons himself for his own Madrigal, Hailstork here pays homage to the work's 16th-century roots. An early composition (written while in college) from the proflic composer, Hailstork combined his own language with his love for choral literature to create a piece reminiscent of the Renaissance with a modern flair. The harmonic language harkens back to a hexachordal modality of the 16th century, uses an unaccompanied SATB choir, and employs varied moments of imitative polyphony and homophony. Many members of the Choir are choral scholars, some are at music college, and most hope to make a career in music. Since its foundation by Ralph Allwood in 1984, the Choir have toured extensively in Europe, and have also appeared throughout the United Kingdom at venues great and small, including St John's, Smith Square and some of the country's most glorious cathedrals.  less
