The soloists are Anne McCambridge and Margaret Mann. Inclusive is the word which probably best describes Open Arts Community Choir. It features people with disabilites and those without, from every section of the community in Northern Ireland. The age range is extensive, from seventeen to over seventy but most importantly members are united by their love of singing. We rehearse at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. We aim to unite and represent our community through our joy of singing. The Choir has over sixty singers rehearsing each week and the main focus in rehearsals is preparation for performances. These performances can take the form of concerts and appearances in festivals and other events in the local community.

We aim for high standards, and of course strong singers are always valued – but you don’t have to be able to read m...  moreFHCS was formed in 1951 and has grown into an ambitious 100-strong Choir. Membership is open to anyone with or without choral experience. We aim for high standards, and of course strong singers are always valued – but you don’t have to be able to read music, and there are no auditions. The age range of members stem from 20 to over 70 so there is room for everyone. If you’re not sure which voice part you are then Christopher Wray, our Musical Director, can help you with this. The Choir performs three public concerts each year, at Easter, in the Summer and at Christmas. We also support the local communities by singing at various events and this includes raising funds for charities. Each year we also sing away from London which combines singing to another community, or combining a performance with their Choir, with a fun day out.
