Endora is the Hebrew word for fountain. A fountain wher in this case the musical joy starts to spray it's joyful notes. the love for music and the willingness to reach a good choir sound is the starting point of this ambitious group of amateur singers. the choir members originate from different kind of choral background (close harmony, church choir and oratorium choir). Endora consists of 8 sopranos, 8 altos, 5 tenors and 5 basses.

Performing with an ensemble of 10 singers and no conductor, Chicago a cappella is recognized as one of the area’s most accomplished vocal ensembles. Under the direction of artistic director John William Trotter, the group spans a repertoire from Gregorian chant to the Beatles and beyond and is known for its performances of sacred works, vocal jazz and pop, Folk and international music, as well as a special focus on music written in the present generation. Since its founding in 1993, the ensemble has introduced dozens of works to Chicago audiences for the first time, including commissioned works by Chen Yi, Stacy Garrop, and Tania León. Chicago a cappella has toured to 13 U.S. states and Mexico and has appeared on national radio broadcasts, including American Public Media’s "Performance Today." Aimed mainly at singers in the "young professional" category, it is for people who are looking for a choir with a difference - a great social atmosphere and a challenging, varied repertoire. An auditioned choir of around 25 members, Tamesis is a high-standard choir, capable of singing 8-part repertoire on a few rehearsals and having fun while doing it! We've just recorded our second CD which will be released in Autumn 2012.

We started in small number of members until it grew bigger and bigger. During those times we were known to be a very good chorale group in our Diocese. It was the time where or group shined the most. Like other groups, our group also had its flop. Some of us are already busy studying in college after we graduated high school. That's why we need to find new members. We suffered from having lack of commitment of other members, and it gave us a difficult time to find new members. But our Maestro never gave up. He continued to build the group. We have a lot of plans to build again and let this group shine again with its brightest light. We are still sharing our music because welove this group and the passion to serve Christ through music is burning within our hearts.  less
