At The beginning, PSM-ITB sang only in campus society and subsequently performed in public. However since 1973, it participated in various national Choir competitions and repeatedly won The first prizes. This led PSM-ITB to become one of The most established Choirs in Indonesia. In several occasions, The Choir has been given The chance to perform in events attended by The President of Indonesia. It regularly performs in Concerts, occasionally collaborated with oTher Choirs and orchestras. In 1968 PSM-ITB organized The 1st ITB Choir Festival (FPS-ITB). Since Then The festival is held biannually and becomes The largest national Choir event in term of categories (from children to adult and folklore catagories) and participants. The Girl Choir of South Florida is The premier singing ensemble for young women in The tri-county area. The Girl Choir, led by Artistic Director Wallis Peterson, has been extolled by The South Florida Sun-Sentinel as “imaginative, accessible, expressive, and entertaining”, gaining a reputation for delivering compelling Concert programming. The Girl Choir’s repertoire is broad, from ancient to modern, classical to popular, sacred to secular, and folk to Broadway, encompassing many cultures, faiths, and traditions. Over The past seven seasons, The Girl Choir has commissioned and premiered works by noted Choral composers, including Eleanor Daley, Bob Chilcott, and David Brunner. New members are always welcome. No auditions required though our director may ask you to sing to verify your placement in The correct voice range. See The Bulletin Board for details. GGCC generally performs at least two Concerts per year, a Winter/Christmas Concert in December and a Spring Concert.
