All interested singers are invited to schedule an audition for Wednesday January 28th, February 4th or February 11th at 6:30pm. The Ensemble, directed by Jason Asbury, is a community chorus based in Brooklyn Heights. The 75-member Ensemble meets in Brooklyn and is made up of neighbors who range in skill from semi-professional to newbies! Concerts include well known and little-known masterpieces of choral literature from Early Music to Contemporary composers and commissions by Brooklyn musicians. This intercultural choir comprises fifteen amateur singers from several african countries. It was first establishments in 1996 in Dakar by a group of youth who adored the art of singing. The choir consistently performed varions type of music, gathering between both classical and modern music (folklore and international). It transcended continents, surpassed réas and diversified its origins from spiritual music, through romantic, to religious and reaching comic music, with a tendency towards african melodies and rythms. It urges us to re-discover and unveil the musical treasures of african continent that dates back to ancestors and to the native people of the Black continent. Directe...  moreBlossom Street is a highly versatile and vibrant chamber choir comprising some of the UK’s best young singers which performs regularly on TV and radio as well as on the concert platform, and has released two critically acclaimed CDs with Naxos. Directed by Hilary Campbell, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, the group was formed a decade ago, while the singers were studying at the University of York, and relocated to London in 2007. In York, Blossom Street filmed a medley of Christmas carols for BBC2, which was broadcast during the snooker final in 2005, and since then has performed nationwide and beyond. They sang to Prince Charles on ITV1 as part of his 60th birthday celebrations, and gave their debut in Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the Voicelab series in 2009. Performing three concerts a year with professional soloists and orchestra, we are fast broadening our repertoire singing music from all genres with a truly varied programme of the highest quality. We are a non auditioned choir, always keen to encourage new members, particularly Tenors. We rehearse on Mondays from 7.30 to 9.30 at St Peter's Church, Wyndham Square, Plymouth.

It is well known as an iconic music venue attracting major artists. It is also a centre for social justice and community activities. In recent years, the church has been developing music in our Sunday services with a range of genres, classical, jazz, gospel, and world music. The church has also created several unique events led by our musicians. These have included our annual Christmas Candlelight service, Good Friday evening performances and smaller events to commemorate such occasions as Black History Month, a remembrance event in the Covid pandemic. Besides the usual church festivals, we also have special services for Refugee Week, Gay Pride, Holocaust Memorial, and other special commemorations. The group has joined the A.R.S. cori (Regional Association of Choirs of Sicily) and consequently to FENIARCO (National Association of choirs) with the involvement in all the regional and national demonstrations promoted by the aforementioned organism: exhibitions, concerts and gatherings for choirs.
