The choir is been active and performing in Croatia and abroad. Its performance has been noticed at various competitions. In the near future the choir plans a Christmas concert (22-12-2012) at the Rondo Histriae Concert Hall in Pula. There will be a variety of seasonal classical and popular evergreens.

Myroslaw Antonowycz conducted the worship services in C... moreThe basis for the Utrecht Byzantine Choir lies in a group of Ukrainian seminarians with its professors who came to the Netherlands shortly after the Second World War. Born and raised in Ukrainia dr. Myroslaw Antonowycz conducted the worship services in Culemborg for the reestablished Ukrainian seminar. After the seminarians were graduated, they swarmed out to fulfill their priestly vocation for the Ukrainians all over the world. The now outside the monastery walls well-known seminarian choir fell apart while applications for the singing of liturgies and concerts throughout the Netherlands, kept coming.
On the initiative of Msgr. AG Smith, dr. Antonowycz founded the Utrecht Byzantine Choir on February 9, 1951, consisting of only Dutch men, who specialized in singing the liturgy according to the Slavic-Byzantine rite.
In cooperation with the Apostolate of the Eastern Churches, the UBK initially only sang liturgies according to the Byzantine Rite. Hundreds of parishes in the Netherlands became familiar with ... less

This lucky encounter resulted in a series of innovative musical experiences.
Since then, the choir's unique style evolved through combining classical and popular tunes.

The Marion Consort, under the artistic direction of Amy Bearden, is an Chicago-based a cappella Ensemble specializing in the choral music of the Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Baroque periods. Their mission is to mount performances for various audiences with music by well known composers, while exploring the works of lesser known composers. The Marion Consort can divide into duos, trios, octets, etc. for a well-rounded and blended performance.

During the 1990s the Chorale helped re-establish this historic church’s secondary role as a center for culture and community. ADC’s artistic success and benefit to the Cathedral community inspired additional collaborations with other Dallas cultural institutions. In 2001 The Cathedral Chorale became the Arts District Chorale, receiving its non-profit 501(c)(3) status in 2004.
Arts District Chorale is now a signature all-volunteer Ensemble of 60 gifted amateur and professional Vocalists from all walks of life which annually presents four large-scale season events and ten to fifteen smaller events in collaboration with the world-class cultural venues of the downtown Dallas Arts District.
