Each Funky Voices rehearsal is taught by highly qualIfied and experienced Music tutors. Sandra Colston BA Hons (Musical Director) arranges The Music to suit The choir memBers, and to bring The Music up to date and possible for a choir to sing. The Sound With passions for vocal harmonies, and personal influences Being likes of; Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, LuTher Vandross, Brian McKnight, Michael Jackson. We welcom...  moreThe J Singers combine singing ‘seriously for pleasure’ with performing charity fund-raising concerts throughout The county of Somerset. We sing a varied mix of Music from traditional ballads and songs from The West End shows, to popular numBers. We welcome new adult memBers with or without prior choral experience. You do need some Musical ability, but it's not essential to read Music. Rehearsals are in Wembdon, near Bridgwater, on a Tuesday evening.  

This was us appearing at The Mid Somerset Festival in March 2013 in The Female Choir Class. We came second!

From reno...  moreThe Ensemble Thios Omilos was founded in 2002 by memBers of The Leipzig Thomanerchor and quickly Became recognized for Their stylistic dedication to The interpretation of sacred Music as well as secular literature from The renaissance to modern. From renowned festivals, such as The Leipzig Bachfest, The MDR Summer Music, The Music festival in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, The “Kultursommer” in Nordhessen, and The “Musiksommer” in both SchönBerg and Quedlinburg, to performances abroad, The singers have Been warmly welcomed. The vocal quintet went on tour in 2007 to The People’s Republic of China and in 2010 to Taiwan. In 2013 The group was invited to Rome to perform a concert in honor of The council chairman of The Evangelical Reformed Church visiting The Holy See. In The same year Thios Omilos won first place in The Johannes-Brahms-Competition in Wernigerode, The Anton-Bruckner-Competition in Linz, and The Leipzig Conservatory of Music and Theater Ensemble Competition.
