His initial claim was also to promote new soloists a...  more The Rías Baixas Choir was presented in Vigo in January 2014 with the purpose of replacing the lack of choral formations that could collaborate with orchestras and chamber groups in Galicia (NW Spain). His initial claim was also to promote new soloists and serve as a tool for new and established composers specially from the Rias Baixas area. The choir already has more than sixty performances, both self-managed and scheduled in various cycles or festivals such as Outono Lírico, Vigo Sinfónico, Barcia de Mera Religious Music Series, Nas Ondas, Portico Sonoro, Explurart, Cooltural Cambados and II Festival Groba. In these performances they have interpreted several fundamental works of the choral repertoire in all kind of stages of the four Galician provinces, both a capella and with instrumental accompaniment. The poem has a clear structure (verse – chorus), and the Vocal parts are kept straightforward. The striking piece contains some jazzy chords and humorously unexpected twists. This work won the first prize in the 2013 Composition Competition of the European Choral Association in the frame of the festival Youth Choirs in Movement.

Johansen Choirs are truly honored to re...  more The Johansen High School Vocal Music Department provides our students the opportunity to perform great choral literature while entertaining local audiences and performing at a variety of civic and community events. Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our community in various capacities as well as having the opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving students their first experience outside of Stanislaus County. We are excited that nearly 60 students will participate in the Vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. Last year our choirs participated in multiple festivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a contest this summer and sang on stage with Foreigner at the County Fair. These talented students have been invited to participate in Gallo Center for the Arts first ever a cappella festival in April 2013.  less

The mission of Nashville Singers is to entertain, educate, unite and uplift their audiences and members through music that is distinguished for its innovation, diversity and artistic excellence. Their philanthropic mission of Nashville Singers is to provide funding and support for music education in our schools and the community. The singers are all volunteers, range in age from teenagers to retirees and travel from five different counties throughout Middle Tennessee to be a part of the chorus. By the end of their sophomore year, Nashville Singers had learned 24 songs, released their first CD, performed for 15 organizations across Middle Tennessee, and produced a successful concert series which attracted attendees from 36 cities in eight states across the U...    less
