In Flanders Fields by John McCrae In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky the larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high. Founded by singers and beatboxers from the...  moreNew a cappella group the Refrains are quickly establishing themselves on the thriving a cappella scene in London. the group is made up of twenty-somethings (mostly!) who are young professionals Living in London. Founded by singers and beatboxers from the likes of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, Last Choir Standing and Britain's Got Talent favourites Out of the Blue, the group’s repertoire spans from Billy Joel to the Black Eyed Peas, via pop, jazz, barbershop, rap and original composition as they offer a programme of sumptuous jazz arrangements, genre jumping covers and assorted originals. Following a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Refrains enjoyed a sold-out London debut at the forge, Camden. Recent gigs have included the London A Cappella Festival, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Silver Bullet and private events.
