This is thanks to the work of Knut Nystedt (b.... moreThroughout its existence the Chamber Choir Schola Cantorum has had high ambitions. the Choir has built an international reputation and has made it a trademark to include newly written Music in its programmes. This is thanks to the work of Knut Nystedt (b. 1915), organist, composer and conductor, who returned to Norway in 1964 after studying in the USA and started a Choir at the Music department of the University of Oslo. the Choir continues to recruit members from the department of Music, as well as from the Norwegian Academy of Music in more recent years.
the American choral tradition in which Nystedt was trained emphasises the importance of new Music – a practice Nystedt brought back with him to Oslo. Knut Nystedt’s Music became a vital element of Schola Cantorum’s repertoire.

Background
the Simon Carrington Chamber Singers (SCCS), led by artistic director Simon Carrington, is a world class choral Music ensemble based in Kansas City. the group was founded in 2008 by three of Carrington’s former students who shared the desire to form an elite professional vocal Chamber ensemble under his direction.
SCCS, an ensemble of 24 singers, performs a diverse and challenging repertoire that spans the ages. the group showcases a unique sound that reflects Carrington’s Musical sensibilities: a clear, bright tone with a measured use of vibrato which allows a clear and expressive delivery of the text. It has evolved into an ensemble determined to reinvent itself continuously as it deve... moreA Chamber Choir composed of Music lovers from all walks of life who enjoy singing together, the Novo Concertante Manila was originally formed as a recital Choir in 1998. It has evolved into an ensemble determined to reinvent itself continuously as it develops a sound that is artistically intelligent.
In its 14-year history, Novo Concertante Manila has competed and won in several international choral competitions. Among which are the 2nd Choir Olympics in Busan, South Korea(2002), the 1st A Voyage of Songs International Chorale Competition in Genting Highlands, Malaysia (2003) and the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Choir Competition in Takarazuka, Japan (2007). In 2009, the Choir won the 1st and 2nd Prizes at the 46th Internationaler Chorwettbewerb in Spittalan der Drau, Austria and the 1st Prize at the 55th Certamen International de Habaneras y Polifonia in Torrevieja, Spain.
