It has evolved into an ensemble determined to reinvent itself continuously as it develops a sound that is artistically intelligent.
In its 14-year history, Novo Concertante Manila has competed and won in several international choral competitions. Among which are the 2nd Choir Olympics in Busan, South Korea(2002), the 1st A Voyage of Songs International Chorale Competition in Genting Highlands, Malaysia (2003) and the 23rd Takarazuka International Chamber Choir Competition in Takarazuka, Japan (2007). In 2009, the choir won the 1st and 2nd Prizes at the 46th Internationaler Chorwettbewerb in Spittalan der Drau, Austria and the 1st Prize at the 55th Certamen International de Habaneras y Polifonia in Torrevieja, Spain.
Most recently, the choir won in two international competitions in 2012 - the Grand Prize (Mixed Choir Category) at the 1st Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in Guangzhuo, China and the Grand Prize and Voice of Asia at the 2012 Asia Cantate International Choral Competition in Phuket, Thailand. At present, Novo Concertante Manila is considered one of the top choirs in the most recent World Rankings of the Top 1,000 choirs by Interkultur as of January 2014.
The National Commission has honored the choir three times with the “Ani ng Dangal” award for Culture and the Arts (2009, 2010, and 2013) in recognition of the their achievements in the field of choral music.
The choir has performed in numerous arts festivals such as the Andrea O. Veneracion International Choral Festival in 2013, the Chinese Choral Music Festival in Kuala Lumpur in 2010, the 2nd International Silent Film Festival in 2008, the 1stManila Choral Festival in 2007, Jubilate Choral Festival in Singapore in 2004, the annual “Madz et al.” and “A Merry Novo Christmas” Chorale Festivals.
The Novo Concertante Manila sings regularly at the Christ the King Parish Church in Green Meadows, Quezon City every 12 noon mass. less
