The subtle and everyday expressions of the indigenous people, together with those of the Africans, convey their deep desire for freedom. The Bozal Spanish language, as also the themes, texts and rhythm of the works, show the strong syncretism between the Spanish culture and that of the indigenous and African natives. In mid-April, 2011, Ola spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus for a project in which he joined the choir in recording 3 of his compositions. On this video, Gjeilo adds an improvised accompaniment (in a one-take rendition) to his setting of the Ubi Caritas text -- which is published as an unaccompanied piece. Because of his view that improvising is a wonderful snapshot of artists "at that moment", the project was entitled "In the Moment".  less

In a short time came to count 42 active members who are characterized by their love for quality choral music as well as their desire for further knowledge in the choral art! Within the first year of its operation, InDONNAtion accoplished first Panhellenic executions and suggested a different and original approach to choral music, as its repertoire includes beyond the classics and unique compositions that combine movement with sound. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the choir's name is a pun of the musical term Intonation (tonality of the sound) and the latin word Donna (woman).  less
