Juan Belmonte, former conductor of The Orquesta Sinfónica del Zulia, in Venezuela, with The purpose of having a stable group for The symphonic choral repertoire. In The present time, Antiphona acts as an nonprofit civil association of culture promotion. The Choir has been conducted by Mtro. Juan Carlos Bersague from 1995 to 2008. From 2010, Antiphona Titular Conductor is Mtro. César Alejandro Carrillo.
In its curricular path, Antiphona has performed in several scenarios in Bulgaria, Colombia, Cuba, France, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Spain and Venezuela.

Johansen Choirs are truly honored to re... more The Johansen High School Vocal Music Department provides our students The opportunity to perform great choral literature while entertaining local audiences and performing at a variety of civic and community events. Johansen Choirs are truly honored to represent our community in various capacities as well as having The opportunity to tour throughout California, often giving students Their first experience outside of Stanislaus County.
We are excited that nearly 60 students will participate in The vocal music program at Johansen High School this year. Last year our Choirs participated in multiple festivals, sang by invitation at many local events and toured San Diego. The department’s Viking Singers won a contest this summer and sang on stage with Foreigner at The County Fair. These talented students have been invited to participate in Gallo Center for The Arts first ever a cappella festival in April 2013.

Handel, Gloria, by Vivaldi, The Durufle Requiem, The Pope Marcellus Mass by Palestrina, Magnificat by J.S. Bach and Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna. During The summer, Cantate presents The Pacific Summer Music Festival which hosts guest musicians such as The nation’s most beloved choral conductor, Dr. Weston Noble, concert pianists, Itay Goren and Frank Pavese and The Grammy-nominated string ensemble, Quartet San Francisco.
