London-based Bulgarian singer/ songwriter
Eugenia Georgieva is best known for her vocal and stylistic versatility with styles spanning from soul and pop to Bulgarian folk.
Since 2005 Eugenia has been artistic director of PERUNIKA, a trio performing a cappella, incorporating Bulgarian, Macedonian and Russian traditional songs into a broader Slavic repertoire. In 2012 Perunika released an album of Japanese folk songs in Bulgarian polyphonic arrangement on SONY MUSIC Japan. Other ensembles include vocal fusion project YANTRA and world music heavyweights Transglobal Underground’s venture UNITE, A Gathering Of Strangers.
Eugenia has been leading East European Choir at UCL since 2010 in partnership with P. Shepherd. Their duet brought them the 1st Prize at the 6th International Russian Song Contest in London, 2012. Eugenia successfully lead East European Choir at UCL at London Sangerstevne Festival (11-12 May 2012), The Winter Festival at South Bank (Nov 2012), and Maslenitsa Song & Dance Competition (Jan 2013), securing a place for the big Maslenitsa Russian festival on Trafalgar Square.
Currently Eugenia teaches Veda Slovena, a choir specialising in Bulgarian folk, Orthodox chants, Macedonian, Russian and other Slavic song.
Eugenia is a member of Natural Voice Practitioners' Network and has lead numerous Bulgarian workshops in London and at popular festivals.

Following in the footsteps of such distinguished predecessors as the world famous Le Mystere de Voix Bulgares, who won a Grammy award in 1989 and brought Bulgarian folk to world-wide audiences, we are committed to preserving and celebrating this unique style of singing.
We are named after a mystery ourselves - Veda Slovena, The Vedas of the Slavs, was a compilation of folk songs from Thrace and Macedonia published in 19 c., which is still considered a mystification.
With an international cast of singers we are a living proof that true musical beauty and wisdom know no borders - neither national nor spiritual.
