    Now in its sixth year, That Choir combines a high standard of performance with storytelling through choral music as one of Toronto's most exciting a cappella. Formed in 2008 by artistic director Craig Pike and fourteen of his theatre school classmates, That Choir now draws together twenty auditioned singers with diverse backgrounds in work and study.

    Along with their annual concert series, That Choir has performed at community events and arts festivals across Toronto and in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Recent appearances include SING! The Toronto Vocal Arts Festival, the Toronto AIDS Candlelight Vigil and the Yelp! Toronto MS Society Fundraiser. In May 2013 the choir shared a stage with Sir Christopher Plummer and George Stroumboulopoulos as featured performers at the Shakespeare Globe Centre of Canada's annual gala.

    That Choir has received funding from Choirs Ontario and the Ontario Arts Council to help fund their projects including a choral symposium with renowned conductor and clinician Susan Quinn, and a performance of Ola Gjeilo's work for choir, string quartet and piano Dark Night of the Soul. In 2013, they placed second in the ACCC’s National Competition for Canadian Amateur Choirs in the Adult Mixed-Voice category.

    Looking forward, That Choir is thrilled to be the special guest choir at Choirs Ontario’s weekend choral festival SINGONtario! in January 2014 and they will also be opening the Colours of Music Festival in Barrie in the fall of 2014. That Choir released their self-titled, debut album in the spring of 2012; it is available for purchase through their website.

That Choir was formed in the spring of 2008 by Craig Pike and 14 of his actor friends who wanted to create and share a music experience together. That Choir now brings together over 25 members with diverse backgrounds in work and study, and a mixture of trained and untrained voices. New Canadian artists are important for That Choir to nurture and have already performed new works by J. Scott Brubacher as well as Reza Jacobs in December 2010. Also in December of 2010, That Choir invited Canadian Theatre Artist Nancy Palk to read Dylan Thomas's " A Child's Christmas in Wales" as part of That Choir Carols - an annual celebration of the Holidays. As That Choir looks forward into 2011, it is becoming well known for its a cappella repertoire of many styles and periods with a strong focus on storytelling.  less
