About Me Plaisir Ensemble was found in March 2005 by renowned tenor & conductor Mr. Man Kin-Ping, the Art Director and Conductor of the Ensemble.

The members of the Ensemble are all amateurs and have the same ideal that their performance can touch the heart of every audience through their well-trained voices. Their repertoires include folk songs, classical songs, musical pieces, pops, and premiere works by renowned composers. Under the guidance of renowned conductor, Mr. MAN Kin-ping, these girls from Hong Kong have been growing from strength to strength over the years, gain remarkable achievements in global choir games and festivals.

They have been invited to perform in many concerts in Hong Kong and around the world. They were invited by the “Sha Tin Arts Association” as guest performers in singing competitions. In the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Hong Kong’s reunion with China in 2007, the Ensemble was invited to perform in the concert “Our Journey” in Toronto as one of the events of the 2007 Canadian-Chinese Performing Arts Festival. In the same trip, they also performed for a charity association in Vancouver.

They participated many music festivals, and won many awards in international singing competitions. In July 2006, they won the silver award in the women’s ensemble category of the “4th World Choir Games” in Xiamen, China. In November, they were invited to participate in the “Busan International Chorus Campaign” in Korea.

Besides, in July 2010, the Ensemble won the Silver Medal of female Chamber Choirs in the “6th World Choir Games”.

In 2011, Plaisir Ensemble was highly rewarded for its hard work in the 1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition organized by the INTERKULTUR. This spectacular choir festival took place in an ancient city – Hoi An for the first time, drawing the participation of over 30 choirs with nearly 1,000 artists from 11 countries and territories. All together, Plaisir Ensemble won Golden Diploma in vocal ensemble of equal voices and The Winner of the category as well as The Overall Winner in Chamber Choirs.

These amateur choral enthusiasts have been putting a great deal of effort to represented Hong Kong in March 2011 to win in the 1st Vietnam International Choir Festival and Competition, and proudly, sang the national anthem in front of distinguished guests all over the world.

The Ensemble is one of the Top 50 Female Choirs in the Musica Mundi World Ranking List.
