I'm a choral conductor, choir trainer and choral education practitioner based in London, Uk.
I'm Musical Director of Chantage (BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year 2006), the Aylesbury Festival Choir, the Chandos Chamber Choir, the Fleet Singers and a number of office choirs, including; Guardians' Angels (the choir of the Guardian newspaper), Channel 4's own staff choir 4Tunes, Centaur Media PLC's office choir, Waddesdon Manor staff choir and more.
I am also a Choir Trainer for the Royal College of Music Junior Department, an Assistant Conductor for the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, and a tutor for the Cranleigh Choral Week, the Ingenium Academy and the Sherborne (formerly Canford) Summer School of Music.
Chantage is one of the UK's leading amateur choirs, formed in 1999 and is now well known as a stylish and energetic young chamber choir. Chantage performs a wide range of repertoire, programming works traditionally performed by English chamber choirs alongside lesser known works sourced from foreign choral cultures. Chantage was formed in 1999 by its Musical Director James Davey, and quickly established itself in London as a stylish and energetic young chamber choir. It draws singers from all over the country and from all walks of life.
Strong commitment from its members has helped forge a growing reputation as an outstanding amateur choir with a national reputation.
