About Me
In 2005 following the death of my father, I decided to pursue my dream of joining a gospel choir. A Google search showed no gospel choirs anywhere near me so with no training or experience, just a burning passion and a basic level of keyboard by ear, is set up the Callington Community gospel choir. Now in our 8th year, the 50 strong choir performs around 35 times a year and has raised over £55,000 for charity.
We have run gospel training workshop for groups of 5 up to 140 singers, in the UK and in Europe. We are keep to share our experience and techniques for the benefit of others.
Formed in November 2005, the choir has performed around England, Wales, parts of France and Germany. Members of the choir also run a training choir to train other choirs to perform Gospel music. To date they have travelled to Cornwall, Devon, Derbyshire, Wales, France and Germany. The whole choir is mixed, with approximately 50 singers and performs around 30 times a year. The choir has raised over £63,000 for charity over their time together.
