About Me The “Phil” is celebrating!
In September 1874 our wonderful choir was founded, which means we have been enhancing life through choral singing for 140 years!
The organisation has grown and developed into a widely renowned and revered local institution. The Phil Kids and Philharmonic Youth Choir have also done some amazing work with our young people over the last eight years, teaching and encouraging the next generation of choral singers.

The choir performs at least 4 programmes per year, many alongside our cherished partner, the Ulster Orchestra, including Handel's Messiah, which has become a time honoured tradition every Christmas since 1886! More recently we collaborated with Belfast Film Festival and Ulster Orchestra to perform the music of Patrick Doyle in the films of Sir Kenneth Branagh. Another recent highlight was the world premiere of Titanic Requiem, a commemoration of those lost on the Titanic, performed in both St Anne's Cathedral and St Peter's Cathedral. The choir has also accompanied Kathryn Jenkins at the Odyssey Arena and sung with Ennio Morriconi and his orchestra for Belfast Festival at Queens.
