The BAVE CHAMBER CHOIR is focus group formed out of the BAVE Community Choir in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia in 2017 to participate in music festivals and events. Members of the choir come from the multi-cultured community around the Klang Valley. The BAVE Chamber choir is part of the BAVE Community Choir. BAVE Community Choir was launched in 2015 as part of BTSM’s outreach to the community. Both the Community and Chamber choirs are part of the Broadway Theater Society Malaysia’s activity groups. Members of the Chamber Choir will have to first be part of the main Community Choir. The BTSM is a non-profit organization, formed to promote performing arts in Malaysia by the community, for the community. BAVE maintains a strong policy that “Everyone Can Sing”. The tagline for BAVE is “NO AUDITION & NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED”. The choir is non-auditioned but members who join will have to commit to rehearsals and group activities. The Broadway Academy Show Choir (BASC) started in 2011 by the Broadway Academy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The BASC has been performing on a regular basis on each of Broadway Academy’s Showcase that is held at the end of each academic term. Performers of the BASC start from the age from age of 13 and to a maximum age of 28 years old. BASC performs according to a certain theme for each performance. This year for the BICF2018, the BASC has chosen the theme of Hamilton, from the award winning Broadway Musical Hamilton. BASC is under the vocal direction of Dr Casey Broadway and choreography under Ms Nana Eddy. The BASC is modeled after the American Show Choir whereby choristers have to undergo both vocal and choreography training. The choir has been invited to perform in New York, Los Angeles, Florida and Michigan. BASC hopes that the American Tour will be a reality soon.
