The Choir is inspired by the m...  moreThe University Choir-KNUST is an interdenominational Christian Choir of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The Choir is the oldest College Choir in Ghana and arguably in West Africa; established in 1964. The Choir is inspired by the mission of singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs as an act of worship to the glory of God and to minister to the souls of men. Over the years, the Choir is been noted for very inspiring and sensational concerts and oratorios that seek to fulfill the mission above. Very recent of such ministrations include; Israel in Egypt (2008 and 2010), Indulci Jubilo(2015), Handel's Chandos Anthems (2016), Singspiration (2017),and Laudate Deo (2018). The Choir has through these platforms touched the lives of many deprived entities through her social welfare responsibilities. We can't say it all and ignore the wonderful personalities the Choir has nurtured over the years. With a membership of 65-70 musicians from throughout the campus, this ensemble is quickly becoming recognized for its musical excellence. Recent concerts have included Johann Sebastian Bach’s Lobet den Herrn, alle Heiden, Samuel Barber’s Reincarnations and Benjamin Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb. Strong sight-reading skills and musicianship are important to membership. This ensemble is directed by Dr. Jonathan Babcock, associate director of choral activities. The Choir performs songs from pop, musical th...  moreWe’re a community Choir with the objective of raising the profile of our charity – Equal People Performing Arts, whose objective is to provide access to the Arts regardless of ability, needs or background. The Choir performs songs from pop, musical theatre and film and, alongside our experienced Choir director, is run by a professional vocal coach to ensure all members are learning good supported singing at the same time as the songs.  

The Huntington University Concert Choir features 16 to 36 members – all who go through an audition process for selection in this on-campus Mixed Choir group.
