The mission is to have an inclusive, friendly, fun-loving Choir where young people may develop self-esteem, self-discipline, self-motivation, tolerance, and respect for others while learning the skills of choral singing and experiencing the artistry and joy of musical performance.

The Surrey Children's Choir family represents 3 Choirs, a Junior Training Choir, an Intermediate Training Choir, and the Senior Surrey Children's Choir. The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber Choir, a mixed young adult chorus...  moreThe Surrey Children's Choir family represents 3 Choirs, a Junior Training Choir, an Intermediate Training Choir, and the Senior Surrey Children's Choir. The "family" also includes older levels, a treble chamber Choir, a mixed young adult chorus, and a community adult chorus. The Junior and Intermediate Training Choirs (JTC and ITC) provide a program of sequentially developed skills which prepare choristers for admission into the Surrey Children's Choir. The training Choirs perform annually at the Family Christmas Concert and Year End concert (held in May of each year). They also often compete at the Fraser Valley Kiwanis Music Festival, always with great results. The training Choirs may also perform at various events in the community. The SCC, a treble-voice Choir of boys and girls aged 12-18 is a consistent gold medal winner at local festivals, hailed by Gerald Van Wyck, Vancouver Community College professor as "one of the best children's Choirs in Canada". The Choir is in residence at the prestigious Théâtre du Châtelet right in the heart of Paris France. Directed by the American Choral Conductor Scott Alan Prouty, they give concerts throughout France, and have often been used as the model Choir for schools throughout France. The Choir is known for the variety of it's repertoire going from classical music to french songs to Broadway show numbers.
